Channel manager
A channel manager is software that keeps a hotel’s room availability, rates and bookings in sync across all sales channels, such as OTAs, the hotel website and the PMS.

Without a channel manager, staff must close availability by hand on every channel after each booking, which quickly leads to double bookings. A channel manager does it automatically: when the last room is booked on one OTA, it disappears from all the others.
How it works in practice
Example: a 40-room hotel sells through two major OTAs, its own website and by phone. The channel manager, connected to the PMS, pulls in bookings from every channel, updates availability within moments and lets the team change rates in one place. Staff no longer re-key bookings, and the risk of overbooking falls.
How technology helps
A channel manager handles room distribution before arrival. hotelspot works during the stay (guest app, extras, payments). It is not a channel manager; it connects to the hotel’s PMS through integrations.
