Hotel PMS (property management system)
A hotel PMS (property management system) is the hotel’s core system for managing reservations, check-ins, rooms, guest folios and billing.

The PMS is the hotel’s operational hub. The front desk sees the room rack, reservations, housekeeping statuses and guest bills, while management gets occupancy and revenue reports. Other systems connect to it: channel manager, booking engine, payments, door locks and the guest app.
How it works in practice
Example: a day at a 70-room hotel. In the morning the PMS lists departures and rooms to clean; during the day housekeeping updates room statuses; in the afternoon reception checks guests into assigned rooms; overnight the night audit closes the day and produces reports.
How technology helps
hotelspot is not a PMS; it is a platform for serving guests during their stay. It connects with popular PMS systems (including Oracle OPERA Cloud and Cloudbeds) through integrations, and with self check-in on the Digital Pod the stay status and room number sync with the PMS.
